Lie is the latest pop gem from Devan.

Debuting just last year, indie-pop artist Devan has soared in such a short space of time. She released her debut EP, Pink Noise, at the beginning of this year, and it was used as a commentary and reflection on herself and her experiences. Now, Devan has returned with Lie, a song equally as emotional and heartfelt as her previous releases.

Lie was written about sugar-coating a relationship to make it seem sweeter than it really is, and this is done so with mellow vocals and pounding instrumentals. The verses contrast the chorus, soft melodies oppose the dramatic instrumentals – neither is more or less incredible than the other, though. Feelings of love, the loss of, indecisiveness and procrastination are all prevalent throughout this track, and the composition of each is truly stunning.
