NAAH Shares New Single ‘better than love’
Sweden’s Naah celebrates the power of friendship in her latest pop stunner better than love.
Following a year of family losses and mental health struggles, Naah turns to music for consolation and strength with a new sense of self and a renewed passion. Her new single, better than love, is the second taste of her upcoming debut album.
Pairing bedroom-pop subtleties with an indie edge, Naah crafts a sonically soothing and lyrically heartfelt tale. An ode to friendships and meaningful connections, better than love charms with tender vocals and mellow synths that coalesce into a dreamy sound, enveloping around you softly. Despite its slow-burning pace, this electronic-laced ballad is sure to tug at your heartstrings.
Speaking more about the song, Naah shares:
Last year was the worst time for me and not just because of the coronavirus. I was quite depressed and couldn’t be creative at all for the first time in my life. I spent lots of time with my friends and they really helped me through it and when I finally could write again I noticed that I struggled lyrics-wise. Before, I often wrote about heartbreaks but that felt quite off to write about now cause it’s not really a part of my life at the moment. So I wrote this song as a tribute to my friends. It was super easy and fun and I honestly don’t know why I haven’t done it before. They are such a big part of my life and really deserve it.
