ELKIN Share Joyous Anthem ‘Tokens’
Simultaneously soothing and groovy, this bass-heavy pop tune is an invigorating listening experience.

Well on their way to making big waves in the indie-pop scene, Elkin are a self-managed, alt-pop duo consisting of Ellen O’Mahony and Carla Ryan. Marrying enticing sonics with expressive lyricism, this duo draw you in with their gorgeous vocal harmonies and natural, priceless chemistry. Composing music and singing together since the age of fifteen, Ellen and Carla take inspiration from Joni Mitchell and have expanded their sound from folk-pop to alt-pop, with the help of the producer lullahush. The duo first made their mark in 2019 with the release of singles Green Eyes, Cut My Tongue and DIY, as well as their collaborative track Fall So Easy with producer 1000 Beasts.
Due to the pandemic halting their plans of performing, Elkin instead spent the year writing and recording a collection of singles entitled ANTHOLOGY, which are due for release throughout this year. Now, they return with their latest track Tokens which embodies the graceful power of music and its ability to connect you with your loved ones. The delicately sang chorus “I like collecting tokens of our loving, leave them in playlists, one day rediscovering” evokes feelings of warmth, as Ellen and Carla’s complementary harmonies radiate a tender glow.
Elkin reveal:
To us, ‘Tokens’ is a celebration of all the memories we’ve made in our early 20s. We wanted to capture the nostalgia you feel when a song comes on and reminds you of the person who first showed it to you. This song is an homage to all the friends we’ve made along the way.
Memorable after just one listen, this enthrallingly elegant track exemplifies the dazzling spirit of music, and it is a song you will feel compelled to share with loved ones.
