Questioning ‘who are you now?’, Lightspeed is the new single from Jon Bryant that sees him getting to grips with his past and reckoning with his future. It’s about acknowledging the change that is constantly buzzing around us and the uncertainty which we face, but in accepting this fact, it brings an affirming feeling that will leave you feeling more ready to tackle the unknown.

The track comes alongside the announcement of Jon’s new EP Psychidyllic Salutations, which is set for release on November 26th. Bringing a blend of throbbing synths and falsetto vocals, Lightspeed offers a hypnotising sound that will lift you from your immediate surroundings into the world inhabited by the track. In combination with the sincere lyricism, you’re pulled deep into Jon’s emotions and thoughts and further invited to also lay down your guard.

Speaking more about the track, Jon explains:

This song is about change and the unknown. Dostoevsky said ‘Taking a new step, uttering a new word, is what we fear most’. And when it comes to our relationships, change is inevitable. We either evolve or die, grow or atrophy. Nothing stays the same and although it’s painful, letting go of the past – good and bad – is necessary to prepare us for what’s next. I think of this song as a relationship that leaves one universe for another.
