THE PRETTY RECKLESS Announce New Album ‘Death By Rock And Roll’

Exploring a deeply personal dimension of their music, The Pretty Reckless return with the cliff-hanger, autobiographical 25.

The Pretty Reckless 2020

Materializing Taylor Momsen’s quarter-life retrospection, The Pretty Reckless return with the coldly emotional, borderline ominous new song 25 in anticipation of their upcoming album Death By Rock And Roll, set to be released on 12th February 2021 via Century Media Records.

Revealing a deeper dimension of their lyricism and a somewhat experimental sound, the song cuts to the chase with a dark, menacing intro and slowly builds up tension as Taylor goes 1 by 1 through her childhood years. It surprisingly switches to a trickingly positive, hopeful interlude when covering the teenage years, only to swirl back into darker notes as it hits the 20s and dramatically explodes at the last chorus. With gripping lyrics sung by spellbinding vocals and an overall chilling and captivating sound, 25 is not only an epic standalone tune, but it also raises the already high expectations and excitement for the band’s upcoming album – it’s bound to be a massive one.

Speaking on the new single, Taylor shares:

’25’ is an interesting song that came from a lot of different places. It was the first song we recorded for the record in early 2019. I had just turned 25 when we wrote it. In a way, it’s an autobiography and hopefully shows that this album really ventures out into new territory with the music.
