CHARITY CHILDREN Release New Single ‘Baby Blue’

Oozing with melancholia and emotional fragility, Baby Blue is the latest piano ballad from Charity Children.

Charity Children

Comprising of Chloë Lewer and Elliott McKee, Charity Children are a Berlin-based, New Zealand-raised, alt-pop band. Now ex-lovers, Lewer and McKee continue to push their creativity and musicality into a new direction as they offer up atmospheric new song, Baby Blue, the third single from their upcoming new album Almost Young, out in late Summer.

With a touch of melancholic sweetness to the sound, Baby Blue is a forlornly personal yet achingly relatable song. Flourishing with sulky beats and poignant piano notes, the track charms with wistful vocals and a delightful saxophone solo which is sure to stir your soul. Exploring the theme of self-worth in relationships, Charity Children pair modern sonic elements with vintage aesthetics to create a captivating slow-burner, painting the air with splashes of heartache and passion.

The title of the song was inspired by Bob Dylan’s It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue, who sang ‘whatever you wish to keep, you better grab it fast.’

Speaking on the new single, the duo shares:

I wrote the song to a crush with a new fling who I didn’t think appreciated or loved them they way they deserved. So many people undervalue themselves in romances and friendships and sell themselves short.
