Chicago pop-punkers Knuckle Puck can always be relied upon to provide a good delivery of blood-surging, adrenaline-fuelled music and they have covered our backs once again as they release the lyric video for their newest track What Took You So Long?. You can now sing along to your heart’s content, at the top of your lungs, without the fear that you’re getting the lyrics wrong and with such an emotional underpinning attached to the track, it is sure to be a cathartic experience if nothing else.

The track will form part of the band’s third album, 20/20, which is set for release on September 18th via Rise Records. Vocalist and guitarist Nick Casasanto shares some insight on the track, saying:

Sometimes the search for peace can bring you even further from it. Writing this song helped me learn how to let go and simply be the vehicle for my own thoughts.

He moves on to talk about the forthcoming album more generally, explaining:

Not every song has to be an existential journey. We went into this album wanting to make people feel good about who they are and not upset about who they aren’t. There’s so much to be angry about right now, and rather than contribute to it, we wanted to give people a reason to feel good. I want people to want to listen to this record.
