GLOM Rock Out With New Single ‘Matches’
The saying goes “actions speak louder than words.” In Glom’s case, the music says it all.
In the alt-rock world, it is not uncommon for a guitar solo to spotlight. It is, however, fairly unique to have it spotlight for half the song, letting the dramatic build-up continue the story where Glom’s vocals end off. Matches takes on the struggle between living for yourself and living for others in a high-energy alt tune that channels classic rock elements in the guitar riffs and percussion style. The minutes-long solo has three clearly defined sections that crescendo for from start to finish. It is the final forty-five seconds of Matches, with its sparkling refrain and synth assistance, that brings the celebrations of self-discovery to life and perfectly wraps up this unique track.
Matches is the second single from the band’s sophomore LP, Merit, due out in the Autumn.
