A tasty little track for your Wednesday from the guys of The Trusted titled Horizontal Mind.

Hailing from Southend-on-Sea, the coastal quartet made up of Dave Batchelor, Dale Holt-Mead, Fin Cunningham and Tom Cunningham have orchestrated up something ideal for your Wednesday. Coming from their latest EP titled Love And Suicide, Horizontal Mind is a strong mixture of textures and genres. Floating in the indie, rock and explosive pop realms, the track oozes with a strong sense of self and a hint of playfulness. Opening with a fierce sound, direct drums allow the guitars to make their entrance whilst alluring vocals deliver the message with directness and confidence.

‘Horizontal Mind’ is a song about arrogance and single mindedness. If ‘The Innocent’ is about the beauty of wanting to reassemble the world, then ‘Horizontal Mind’ is the bitter self-critical extreme of that idea. I guess the change in style between the songs is symbolic of the human mind, it doesn’t walk in straight lines.
