WOLF ALICE Announce New Album ‘Blue Weekend’

The Last Man On Earth is a grandiose introduction to the new era of Wolf Alice.

Wolf Alice 2021

One of Britain’s most cherished bands, Wolf Alice have announced their highly-anticipated third album, Blue Weekend, set for release on June 11th via Dirty Hit. The album is a follow-up to their 2018 record Visions Of A Life.

Carefully paced and hauntingly beautiful, The Last Man On Earth finds the band exploring the arrogant nature of human beings. Ellie Rowsell’s evocative and powerful vocals float atop a spacious cloud filled with rousing sounds and poetic lyrics, coalescing into a transcending listening experience. Sitting somewhere between classic balladry and modern production, the new track stunningly reflects the band’s unconventional and unparalleled approach to songwriting.

Elaborating on who the titular The Last Man On Earth is, singer and guitarist for Wolf Alice Ellie Rowsell says:

It’s about the arrogance of humans. I’d just read Kurt Vonnegut’s Cat’s Cradle and I had written the line ‘Peculiar travel suggestions are dancing lessons from god’ in my notes. But then I thought: ‘Uh, your peculiar travel suggestion isn’t a dancing lesson from god, it’s just a travel suggestion! Why does everything need to mean something more?’
