Southampton-based rock quintet Creeper take pride in having a unique sound, and their music is used to tell a story. In 2020 they released their second album, Sex, Death & The Infinite Void, which followed the tale of Roe, his death, and the life and grief of Annabelle, his partner. The concept album came full of gorgeous music, and listeners were taken through, beginning to middle to end, on a real journey. Wanting to pay an ode to Roe, Creeper are preparing to release American Noir on July 30th, the EP that forms an epilogue to the narrative. Starting with Midnight, it becomes instantly evident that this new music is going to see Creeper reach new heights.

The single holds such an intensity, and the vocals of Will Gould and Hannah Greenwood go hand-in-hand; their voices work perfectly together to create an almost Queen-esque sound. Quick-paced, addictive melodies are made up of stunning guitar riffs, a pounding drum beat, and a pretty little, twinkly piano to introduce. The tone of Midnight provides such a euphoric, full feeling, as it culminates to something so beautiful. This may be new territory for Creeper, but my oh my have they smashed it.

On both the forthcoming EP and Midnight, Gould comments:

This new EP is comprised of material we’d written over the course of the last album. Lavish and tragic, it tells the story of the days following the death of our protagonist Roe. Beginning with ‘Midnight’, you’ll find Hannah and I experimenting with our voices together like never before.
