MICRA Groove Out With ‘Coral Crush’
Turn up the bass, grab a glass of wine, and get ready to jam out to Micra’s newest single Coral Crush.
Sydney-based dream-pop duo Micra look to build upon the high of playing two sold-out shows in Sydney and Wollongong with their hypnotising new single Coral Crush. Comprised of Bulgarian born-and-raised singer and guitarist Ivana Kafedjiyska and Australian producer and guitarist Robbie Cain, Micra is their sonic experimentation through which they create a host of mesmerising sounds, dappled with colourful specks of psychedelia and indie tendencies.
Coral Crush sees the duo adopting a more mainstream, poppy approach, with teasing bass lines and laid-back percussion. A sweeping chorus takes over with a fiery and anthemic melody that fills every crevice of space and worms into the marrows of your bones to command you to get your groove on. Lyrically, the track explores the disintegration of relationships, and the duo further says of the inspiration:
‘Coral Crush’ follows a confrontation between two people and how they are influencing each other. Incompatibilities can slowly wear down a relationship over time. Once it comes time to confront it all the harder decisions are usually the healthier ones.
We wanted to make something that felt more light-hearted and fun than what we have put out previously. It’s a little bit less laboured over, minimal and pop oriented.
