Say the name Sigrid, and everybody will tell you how much 2017’s Strangers is an incredible song. They’re definitely not wrong, but there’s so much more to this Norwegian youngster than first meets the eye. In 2019 she released her debut album, then promptly took a break from music when 2020 took away from her what she loved most. Earlier this year Sigrid burst back into action, her lust for life and music reignited, and Burning Bridges is the latest example of her talent.

Written about the inevitable ending of a relationship, Sigrid uses her classic energetic vocals and punchy instrumentals to dampen the blow of what is, in essence, an emotional track. Accompanying this fire track is a visually stunning music video. Scenes reminiscent of ‘The End of the F…ing World,’ it sees Sigrid leaving behind her relationship, and living her best life dancing in a forest. The whole composition is powerful, and Burning Bridges makes you want to do nothing but dance.

On the track, Sigrid shares:

It’s inspired by one of the toughest things I’ve been through. It’s a song that’s about the point where you just have to say in a relationship, ‘you know what, let’s just finish this.’ That moment when enough is enough, and you need a clean break.
