YEAR OF DOGS Share New Single ‘You Got Me’
Filled with joie de vivre and multifarious sonic influences, You Got Me is a celebration of camaraderie.

Year Of Dogs is a Cape Town-based quartet made up by long-time friends Nic van Graan (vocals) and Themba Bosch (guitar), and brothers Alex Birns (drums) and Dillon Birns (bass). The band has just released feel-good summer anthem, You Got Me, the third track produced in partnership with Josh Berry of HONEYMOAN.
Featuring Andrew Hoole on saxophone, the new track is a delightful concoction of genres, pairing nu-jazz influences with indie-funk brilliance and pop sweetness. With a dash of psych flavour added to the mix, You Got Me shines with sparkling guitar riffs, upbeat percussive trails and longing vocals, coalescing into a vibrant sound. Touching upon themes of change and friendship, Year Of Dogs offer up an adventurous piece of music, ready to grace your summer playlists.
Speaking on the new single, lead guitarist, Themba Bosch, explains:
The song is a tip of the hat to the fact that our time on earth is limited; we’re asking the listener to think about what they are going to do about their finite time here. Who will they spend it with? How are they going to spend it? What will they do with the time they have left?
