STRAY LOCAL Return With New Single ‘Animal Shapes’
Animal Shapes is the latest feelgood indie pop anthem from Stray Local.
Husband-and-wife Jamie Rowen and Hannah Lomas have been performing together under the alias of Stray Local since back in 2018 and creating under the mantra “lose yourself in adventure, find your own rhythm.” The duo has had a strong 2021 thus far as their January release, Shiver, has gained a whole load of traction. Hoping to continue as they started, they have just released their latest single, Animal Shapes.
Almost instantly we can tell this single is one to get behind. Cool pop grooves introduce Hannah’s quirky vocals, and a brand-new confidence is thrown out. Cutting guitar melodies, catchy lyricism, and floaty harmonies give the track a slight edge, and it becomes evident that Stray Local aren’t here to dilly-dally about.
On the track, the pair commented:
The song is about a woman who keeps falling back into a relationship that is bad for her and finally gets mad about it, swearing him off and distracting herself with different art projects. I know I can personally relate to blasting music, having a glass of wine, and therapeutically throwing paint on a canvas after a break-up.
